Digital reporting requirements

Jordan e-Invoicing Timeline:
- December 2022: Launch of the National E-Invoicing System.
- January 2023: The Jordanian National Invoicing system became mandated, initiating the registration stage for companies and establishments.
- February 2023: The second phase of e-invoicing implementation (Integration Phase) required for all of taxpayers.
- October 2024: JTA sent messages for taxpayers asking for prompt registration and integration avoid potential fines and legal repercussions.

The Income and Sales Tax Department (ISTD), the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship (MDEE).
Platform
Jordan National E-Invoicing System (JoFotara).
Format
JSON.
Storage time
Not mandatory. Currently, the central platform automatically stores the documents.
Reporting and processes
Processes
1. The supplier generate the invoice in XML format the encrypt it as a JSON file through his source system or E-Invoicing Solution and share it with Jordan National E-invoicing System (JoFotara).
2. After the sending process, JoFotara responds with a JSON that contains messages indicating the success of the process and its conformity with the requirements or indicating the failure of the process.
3. If the process is successful, JTA will include a QR Code inside the XMl invoice, which must be shown on the seller’s invoice, and finally share the invoice with the buyer.
Upcoming legislative changes
For the time being, no legislative changes are foreseen.
